At ohiowoodlands, we air dry our material 3-4 years before kiln drying. We generally kiln dry 1 month per inch of thickness. Our material is very stable. In over 19 years we’ve never had a return due to moisture or movement - please use caution when purchasing thicker mantel material - adequate time is needed to properly dry thick material - at Ohio Woodlands, we average 3-6 years from when a log is milled to the time is has been properly air/kiln dried and available for sale.
