***Beautiful Figured White Walnut Statement Piece*** Butternut is a beautiful wood type that has very similar characteristics to regular walnut - it is lighter than regular walnut so is oftentimes referred to as white walnut - awesome curly burly grain - rustic wormy areas and some darker mineral deposits - a few softer side edges - great epoxy piece - or simply trim off a few inches near the end to remove wormy voids

Kiln Dried and Planed - could use some finish sanding- stress cracks/voids - some rustic figure and edges - some slight planer striations could use finish sanded - rustic modern appeal - please check images for stress cracks - stress cracks don’t affect structural integrity - really cool live edge face. A few softer rougher edges are present. Please see images - a few rougher spots present - beautiful curl/burl and figure throughout - unplaned backside spots and some planer striations could use finish sanded
At ohiowoodlands, we air dry our material 3-4 years before kiln drying. We generally kiln dry 1 month per inch of thickness. Our material is very stable. In over 19 years we’ve never had a return due to moisture or movement - please use caution when purchasing thicker mantel material - adequate time is needed to properly dry thick material - at Ohio Woodlands, we average 3-6 years from when a log is milled to the time is has been properly air/kiln dried and available for sale.
Please do not hesitate to ask the seller about their drying process. Your statement piece deserves to be properly dried.
